Articles and Tips for a WELL Life
Our future is a result of what we do TODAY, not tomorrow!
Oh, yummy almond milk! What a nice, nourishing treat! I started making almond milk a couple of years ago and it’s so easy!
Make sure that you soak your almonds for at least a couple of hours, preferably overnight. This removes all of the chemicals that are sprayed on a lot of the almonds that we buy, even the raw ones. Soaking them also makes them easier to blend.
Blend the following:
1 cup of soaked (and rinsed well) raw almonds
3 cups of filter water
4 pitted dates
1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Pinch of Himalayan sea salt
Below are some ideas of the other ingredients that you can add for additional flavor and variations:
There are just so many ways to make it, so play around and have fun!!
Once everything is blended well together, you will want to strain out the “milk.” You can either use a cheese cloth or a nut bag to strain out the milk. I use the ORBLUE Fine Mesh Nut Milk Bag (link below) that I found on Amazon.com. Once the milk is strained out, chill and enjoy! I use my almond milk for smoothies, overnight oats and to drink when I am having sugar cravings.
